was going to play golf. Left about 3. Went to Hovey's & stopped a second at Ned's - where
Freddy was waiting with the horse for
Edith. Got home, dressed and partly
lunched when Rose & Ned came and we rode out to the park on our
wheels. It was an ideal day - we sat on the little bank overlooking
the river awhile and I took Rose's
picture. Then Freddy &
Edith drove up & Ned got in & the rest of us rode the
wheels over to the deer park.
Rose & I had great fun trying to
take the deer's picture. He would follow us anywhere along the
fence. Finally I got him & later
Ned came & I got all the "dears" - I
think. Then we rode up the lovely meadow road - between sheep and
sheep-dogs and sheep-tenders & took a snap at Freddy & Edith &
"Dan" as they came around - we sat & talked
half-an- hour after they'd gone - saw Mr & Mrs Gillis &
Jamie go by on wheels. The girls came home to
supper with me - we washed our faces & fixed our hair & enjoyed
one of
Mama's delicious suppers - just us four -

wasn't home. The girls staid till 9 - we looked at pictures and told
fortunes &c.

Looked like rain this a.m., but the air was lovely. All the
Behns & Theo & Dr. Davis
started off on wheels soon after 8. At about 11, I did - went to
Edith's but Ned hadn't
