Gilmore was real "good" to me. I spent my half holiday in the blue print room with my negatives - lovely work too, and quite exhausting. Came down town in time to mingle with the whole matinee crowd - ladies in light dresses and "nactors" both. Frieda was having a birthday party. After supper Mrs. & Miss Tompkins called. I went up to see Miss Dowling, a friend of Gertrude's - but she had left - and then Mama and I went & called on Mr. & Mrs Ed Allen. Ed

seems happy & Mrs E is bright and nice. I was quite pleasantly impressed with her and I am inclined to think its a good match. Mama & I walked home by way of Chapin's - who have moved to the 3rd ward - but they weren't in - so we stopped for "fruited cream". Sun. Aug. 16 Got up about 10! After lovely dreams. It poured this a.m. I dusted parlors & fixed my room - hanging the lovely fish net which Wiltsie gave me. It looks fine. I also sorted prints &
