at 1:30 & afterward he went to the league . I started out rather, late, and made some ineffectual journeys in the rain. Took the 6th Ave. L. to Aldrich Court
and after waiting to see Emerich awhile went over to the Stevens House for lunch and then came back & found him & had quite a pleasant call. He took me over into the Manhattan Life Bldg.
to see the Mast Box and then up into the Surety
- that beautiful, tall, white building. We went into a lovely office on the 20th floor & looked down upon the tops of the buildings and could have seen many miles, but for the rain & fog. I got up town just in time to reach Daly's Theatre comfortably in time for the two o'clock Matinee - "Countess Gucki". It was very good - but not beginning with "The Squire of Dame' or "La Signora Dalle Camelie"! Mr. Richman made a handsome & stunning & daring young officer - but laughed too much.
