looks much like Queen Vic in her some - what younger days. Mrs. R. rushed down and showed me a water color Miss Lowell had made of Capt. Hamilton & Capt. Hiram - very good and then she and Mr. L. and I started off. Alice Wiltsie and Gurdon being already far ahead as we crossed the fens I snapped at Mrs. R. and "me hated rival" and also took Pine Hill and the valley - and the pretty Wilwarth cottage - (this negative Bunnell lost) from the other way - by the time we reached Perkin's Cove, the others were out on the rocks, so the W. and m.h.r. didn't converse with them. m.h.r. had a "headache" and didn't dare stay out in the hot sun and fish, so after he had brought the basket of clams down on to the rocks for me he went back with the W. Wiltsie declared the headache a fiction forthwith. We found a little breeze and lots of bites - but the fish were small - except one of Alice's and the rising tide splashed us now and then. I didn't have my cameras down there - but Alice took some shots. I left a little before 11, for a bath - walked along the cliff path - lovely! Took a snap at "narrow cove" and the bathing beach, before I went up to dress. Mr. Lowell was sitting on the rocks with Mr. Lord watching us. He said there were 30 bathers in today. I had a fine bath - swam with Mildred
