Aug. 14. Sat. Yesterday was gorgeous. Lura's birthday & I chased around to get a picture framed for her. Walked up with Nellie & was late to supper, so missed Con, who had come for me to go to the lake & back by moonlight. Read all the evening. Today was warmer, but fine. I dined at Harned's with Ned & Edith & then met Claude at the office and we road our wheels to Forest Lawn - I rode Meta's Columbia & it went very easily indeed - I didn't get tired a bit. The wind was against us from Sea Breeze over & the path was rather thrilling, but very pretty indeed - winding along on boards like the walks at Duffrin Island, Niagara. We left our wheels at the Club House & went up on the bluff to Suell's where Charella & Edward are. It was very pretty up there & we enjoyed ourselves. I took Claude & Charella on the piazza. Edward came and told about the ball game between the Highlanders and the Lowlanders, and about catching fish. He was funny. Then we watched him in bathing with a life presever. Jamie Suell was with him. Then Charella got ready & we took the 6:05 train to town - on Claude's invitation (& because the dinner wasn't good it the Club.) and went to the Livingston Grill room
