tie. People climbed up on the backs of chairs - and fell off. And so
on and afterwards there was dancing. We staid till just time to get
a "phiz" and
(8th)
catch the last car. Tuesday was
Election Day & lovely and "Teddy Roosevelt"
was elected Governor - but the returns were very doubtful till the last. I
went down to the office in the morning &
Mr. Lisle lent me a Columbia Chainless
in the afternoon and I rode all over - in spite of the winds - To
the dressmakers - & tailor's - to
Mary's,
May Vickery's (to take
Reba a doll) to Mae Stull's (where I took off my things
and ate hot baked beans & tomatoe sauce.) to Alice
Jones' and then out
Genesee St. to the park & all around the nice
side paths. It was lovely - Hazy & green. I like that Columbia - It's a Lark of a wheel.
Wednesday and all day Thursday it poured steadily (broke the record
- 50 hours continuous!) Thursday p.m. I had such a cold I staid home
all the p.m. on the divan - Reading
