Apr. 9. Friday
I do love my room already tho' I havent the new bed. The rain turned
to snow & when I looked thro' the park trees it was wintry
again. Everyone growled about the weather all day. We are all torn up
house cleaning &c.
Con came up tonight & took Mama & me to a concert at our church.
Mrs. Fisher,
Mr. Thomas, Mrs. Wyckoff and
Sam Hamilton's orchestra -
"George" sat behind us. The concert was fine -
Saw Mary Dodds,
Rose (with Fred
Durand) &c.&c. Afterward we partook of a chafing
dish lunch. Con
looked very handsome tonight & the music inspired us all, more
or less, I thingk. "Had a good time" - as Claude says. It was still snowing when we came home -
almost rain - and Miss Marshall asked Mama
to escort her. Con & I came
behind with an umbrella and a popcorn ball - which we "used" - It
was quite a lark in the storm.
Apr. 10 Sat.
Pleasanter. Lunched with Con. at
Sibley's
this noon & we had a nice talk - about his sisters &
Ned &c. Afterwards I stopped for
Edith & she walked up with
me - Dan (?) Hone was in Claude's office making "Interpres" drawings and we had quite a laugh over his
Prof. Morey joke. J.G. is sitting to Mr.
Forbes who showed we all his portraits the other day. We
rented one of the new stores
1897.
