July 15 Friday Beautiful. The "12 Perfects" had a picnic as guests of Mr. Burrows at the Yacht Club House - Lura & Charlotte & Helen Davis didn't go - The rest did - and Agnes & Claire Rogers & Mrs. Davis (Mrs. W Weaver's friend). We went down in the electric car - Edith & I sat together - Mary & Matie - Ned & Nellie &c. At the Club House Mr. Burrows was waiting for us. We had lunch there (It being Ladies' Day) and then took an electric launch down the river and up the river. By special request of Capt. Burrows I sat in the bow with him - & Matie A & Mabel & "Arthur" Somebody (a friend of Claire's) the rest sat aft. & the boat was plum-full. We had a delightful ride - & lunch on board (but no coffee) The river was like glass & Mabel said she "wasn't a bit sick". We were on the river till half past nine or so and Mr. B.

send us to the car, coming home. Ned sat on my lap part of the way & then we sat 3 in a seat. I like Burrows - he is so gentlemanly & thoughtful & good-natured & he has such dark skin & such bright laughing eyes. He seems to be fond of his sister-in-law Mabel. He married the oldest Rogers girl who died very soon aferward, some years ago.
