and so did Edith. Edith & Ned came soon after he did & we all joked awhile - till Con had to go. He wanted me to come to the park later. We did, after a while, but didn't see him there. Sat on a bench & watched the river and talked &c. June 26. Sat. A lovely day - Busy morning, as usual but I left at one & stopped at Ned's and Mrs. Thomas invited me to dinner (ice cream &c.) They (Mr. & Mrs. T.) go to Europe Tuesday & this was a sort of a farewell - Oh, how I wish Ned & I were going! I went up home and about three, Ned, Edith, Mary & Nellie stopped for me and we went out to South Park for a loaf and it was a loaf - under a tree & on the haycocks till they were raked up. We played Pedro till the wind blew away the cards and we posed for pictures & we talked vacation and just before six we combed our hair & came home, after arranging a "Theatre Party" for tonight. Con came for me to go to the lake, just as we was starting. We went to Cook's Opera House to see "Our Boys" which was quite cute & funny. Cummings had a sort a "Lord Chummley" character and Jessie Bonstelle was our "ingenue" so different from her "Camille" - and
