went to the bank, I have promised him & Jack Mason each a picture of Hilda (the gipsey one - or "squaw" one - as they call it.) George thinks Hilda is just about right & it was very funny to see her kissing him & Hal goodbye Thursday night. She loves Mrs. Weir & they all think she is very lovely, I'm sure. I think I got a picture of Nell in her big hat too. She is an attractive girl (tho' not so much so as Maude, I think) but was evidently quite fagged out most of the time we were here and a little afraid of us. We bade her & dear Mrs. Weir goodbye started for the train with Maude & Hal at ten o'clock. Cisey
(or "Kissy", as the boys say) Fitzgerald
arrived on the same train. Mary
& I talked all the way to Buffalo - we both enjoyed it hugely, but were pretty tired - Ned & Edith met us - rather surprised me, for Ned talked "poverty" when saw her - We were glad though. Went to Adam, Meldrum & Co's (sort of & Sibley's) for church and a nice visit. Then Mary
& I went out to Glenwood Avenue (146) after much waiting for cars &c. to see Hattie Arnold Brower & her baby Marion
& her flat & (unexpectedly) her mother. The baby is very lovely & pretty & cunning - Hattie looks far from well - Mrs. Arnold is the same as ever so glad to see us & the flat very cozy and nice we staid half an hour or so. Mary
held the baby
