called for "plumbs" & the girls insisted I drank nearly all the beer &c.&c. Afterwards they all
went down the trap door and I took a picture of Ned behind the counter as "biscuit-shooter". Then we
went down stairs & had flowers given us and told stories till
Mrs. Weaver
shocked us into going home. I walked up with the Mac Arthur's and we all carried signs
&c. as souvenirs. The Chapins
were behind us and asked how we fared &c. They were up last
night & got quite interested in our club. My face began to swell
& I didn't get any sleep till 4 a.m.

Little John Perry Best died at 2
o'clock yesterday morning & all the family went to the funeral.
I intended to - but slept instead - Got up & went to the office
about 10:30 & staid till 2:30. My face was all swelled up & I
tho't I was going to have an ulcerated tooth! Stopped at Ned's to show her the proof and she wanted
me to stay & spend the afternoon. So I did - & ripped up my brown
skirt to be made into a bicycle skirt. Read & "figured" some in
the evening, but went to bed early.
