161JUNE 9 Thurs 1910
Clouds & Sunshine both.
Home this noon & tonight early. Went to Miss Short's
for alterations to shirt waist. Read all the evening & played my
music box - now upstairs & then wrote to Trudy & intend to get to bed by 10 - for I'm awfully sleepy.
Henry & Chan went to see the bears! then phoned us on p.m.
Fri 1911
Lovely day as to weather. I
took Mary, Nelly &
Lura to lunch at Sibley's & we had quite a nice time. Saw Marguerite & Miss Durney
also Jim &
Miss Moegge. Had quite a talk with Alice B.
She told me a lot about Fred Boyce
& Clara Levis (who are to be married in July) We took
turns sewing and reading aloud tonight. Mother & I Marguerite
went to Mortensia. This is Letitia birthday. She had a picnic in the Highland Park (hersister &c.) &c.
Sun 1912
Beautiful day. Frieda came up awhile in the morning. Went to
Cro'nest to dinner & then took the
children to Letitia's fan at 2:15.
Mother went to E. Main
Station with us. Nana &
Miss Jackson met us with the horse. We saw ducklings,
cows, pigeons, chickens, hens, pigs. &c. &c. The boys enjoyed the
journey down, too. We took a walk out to the woods - & down
somebody's lane. Nana is very blue about the
farm & talks of coming to the city to work. I left the "Boydie" & came
up at 6:15. After supper (I had tea there) I went over to Meta's & spent most of the evening.
Theo came home with me to borrow
"The friendly studs" &c.
Mon 1913
Another bad night & bad
day. But I did
crawl out this a.m. & had the old toofie out. The rest of the day
lots of headache &c strange dreams & fancies - but did read
"V.V.'s Eyes" which I adore!. Really felt better tonight
I think.
Tues 1914
Still hot. Lunched with
Bess & Mary
and at night. Went to Mechanics to
the Exhibition. Found Ruth K. there with some
guests. Mrs (Lillian) Adcock & her young daughter
Dorothy
. Ruth Duroe
left to day. Coming back in the fall.
