39FEBRUARY 8 Tues 1910. Fine winter's day. A little warmer. It was Mother's "chapter" day & I lunched down town and went "muff shopping" at noon. At night went to a very good bill at the Hippodrome & to the Genesee (to kill time) & then to McMillan's lecture on Pearey's Expedition to the pole. He's the man next in command & had about 200 fine pictures & was interesting. Sat next to Mr. Vick & his daughter. Peter got lost & was found on Barclay St. crying at the wrong door! Wed. 1911 A fine snowy winter's day. Henry & Chan were here to dinner - just full of "conversation", & so dear. Mother went out this p.m. & I went home to supper with Lura - nice roast beef & onion salad &c. came home about 9:30. Read the report of Jim's lecture at the Mechanics & started for bed early. Not much doing at the office these days. Thurs. 1912 Lovely - but cold. Went to the dentist's (Mc- Inter's) an hour this morning & when I got up stairs found a telegram to Claude from Harry "Lawrence Wilkinson has arrived. Both doing Finely"! Claude went to Canandaigua and didn't get back till 2:30. He took the Boys
and sent them home alone on a street car. Helen Mogge had lunch with me this noon - She "just sweet" - Went to Marguerite's tonight & then home
Sat 1913 Wintry. Had quite long session with Mrs. Ramsdell this noon - on her flat. Lydia's
friend May Andrews of Webster came up after supper and read our palms &c. It snowed in the evening. I wrote awhile. The girls don't like Edith Anne! JBA told me about Mechanics Institute troubles.
Sun. 1914 Bright winter day. Mother & I & both the Ruths went down to their place on Atkinson. St. to a nice chicken dinner. Then all but Mother went over to the Art Gallery & saw a very good exhibit. Lovely winter pictures. Italian (Crete) ones and fairy tales (3 artist) - to Mrs. Baker's a little while & then home in such a snowstorm to our grate fire all the rest of the time
