307OCTOBER 25 Tues 1910
Rain today - a very dark
dreary day. Worked on station Spec. &c. Home at noon in the rain.
Got "Kingsmead" to read at the library. Mr. Hanna
was up to tell me his troubles (arm again) Tonight read & figured.
Marguerite was over a little while
- full of her Halloween Party plans - which are splendid.
Wed 1911
Was really sick all day - but
at the office & busy. Read till about 8:30 and then went to bed
& to sleep (in a fever too)
Mary
has planned to go to N.Y. Nov. 16. alone! She looked so pretty in her waist "with pink
fringe."
Fri 1912
Still rainy & foggy. Got
up early & got breakfast. Brunch with
Mother at Cro'nest. The boys & Nana
went to Leroy with Claude this p.m. I went up there to supper. Everyone was
so used up I "put them to bed" & turned out the lights before I came home
Sat 1913
Didn't feel able to go down
but grew better - & toward night would have dressed if it hadn't
been so late. Read, dozed & fondled 3 cats! This p.m. dear Claude came in and later
James & Helen. A Gray day & a Red sunset - went to sleep early
tonight
Sun 1914
A gorgeous day! 7 hours with
Irene in the "Apple Orchard" road
- the dugway & the bay. Heavenly seats on hilltops &c. &c. Apples
& caraway cookies & such nice talks. She's a
little Charmer but I'm afraid she flatters me - she does make love to me
so - and I like her so.
Home in time (only) to dress & go to Florence's in
Edith Scott's car, for supper with her &
the Davises
Then a ride home with EAS - we stopped
for Irene!! and took quite a ride in
the country too!!!
