276SEPTEMBER 24 Sat 1910 Cloudy a.m. none of us got up very early - after breakfast I went up & took a pictures of the reser- voir & then E & I put on mackintoshes (it began to rain) I went up the wood path & gathered 2 bags of balsam. We saw fresh deer traces. I was going over to the point but it poured. played Canfield and after dinner 500. We started about 3:15 with all the raincoats & Mackin toshes & umbrellas in the house but kept reasonably dry Bucker was at the lower camps & we drove down stopping at Hearths. & got to the Inn at 5:10! Shopped (!) Had a fine Venison supper - played canfield in my rooms & then had a hot sponge bath and slept fine & warm Sun. 1911 Beautiful day. Marguerite was over this a.m. CFB entertaining Dr. Khedkar. They went to Mulligans to dinner. Mother & I dined with Mrs. K.
& the children. I took a lot of pictures (by request) and we had quite a long visit about Indian costumes &c. She is well educated & writes for the papers! Afterward we went over to the hospital to see Jim. He is on crutches & going home this week. [illegible] was there! Stopped at Edna's & had a visit with Hattie Stone (no one else home) Read &c. this evening - bed early
Tues. 1912 Lunched with Mother (?) at Sibley's today. Miss Mac Donald went off on a case (in a taxi) this a.m. Wed. 1913 Another lovely day. Met Mr. Bhudea
. Who was taught English by Kipling &c. very interesting. Went to Mrs. Russak's lecture tonight and sat with Chat & Lura, who met Eugenie after.
Thurs. 1914 Had Miss Upton to lunch today - late & we had a long long talk about astrology &c. &c. (Told me a lot) It rained here this a.m. This evening Mrs. Adams and "Sid" came in the cars with Dr. Carter & took me down to "Hever Hall" and we had a fine time - looked at photos of all our cameras &c. &c.
