259SEPTEMBER 7 Wed 1910
Beautiful day. Lake breeze.
Walked with Alma Schultz the on her way rowed from
yesterday. It was just as pretty & different. We found apples to eat &
Hersheys - at 2 bridges. Took the Brown's picture on
their "Bench" & about 3:30 (after a sun bath) took Mrs. B.
& Mrs. S. way up the creek beyond the bridges.
Got water lilies &c. A beautiful trip - stopped to change places at
the bridge & saw Mr. Brown & Mrs.
Durckerger passing in the auto. Home just in time for supper -
will summer. Lovely sunset. Took usual walk alone to end of pier & then
Mrs. First? (A.S's) mother joined me &
told me her German romance Later I had a long and interesting conversation
with Bascom Boyle
aged six. He is a fine youngster, also baby sister
Virginia.

Thurs 1911
Still dark & cool.
Worked hard. Tonight wrote to Gertrude
& then sat by the fire and did initials on Chan's comforter Mother
is making - was late to bed.
Sat 1912
Lovely day. Very busy. Lunched
with Mrs. Rowe (her birthday) & Marguerite. Worked all p.m. on Larkin
Plumbing & developed pictures. Shopped at 5. (a brown dress
&c.) Very tired tonight, but was up late!
Sun 1913.
Fine warm day. Woke up late.
Achey & tired & rather perturbed with everything - especially
staying up to CFB's while he went to
see poor Wynne. It was in the air and
I don't think 'Genie
will go. The maids were queer & I don't think
Chan felt good. Henry happy with new tools from
Nana. Did figures all p.m.! Got some
rested toward night. Mother was lovely.
Mon 1914
Cool & too rough to row.
Had a call from the little Bride & Groom (& the
Bowers) in a.m. but staid in till 4 this p.m. Then we
3 walked down to the dam (partly in the rain) and I went on to Inlet.
Met Ruth Kingsley, just arriving from
Rochester & all rode up together. Had a nice
camp fire tonight. The Boys came down from [illegible]Lodge.
