130MAY 9 Mon. 1910 Pouring rain this a.m. (& I so sleepy!) but cleared off for the beginning of the Ball Season (Newark beat 4-1!) came home to lunch. J.W. in N.Y. and I worked on J.G's books a good deal of the day. Had a little visit with Lura, Mary & CFB. Tonight Father read aloud & I sewed & then finished "Everybody's". The Pringles are moving out. Tues. 1911 A beautiful day. Lunched with Bess at Sibley's. Got my own supper. Read & got very sleepy. Had a "white night" Claude & Hampden talked till two a.m! Thurs. 1912 At last our furnace fire is out (first time since September) & of course it rained & got chilly, so Mother and I had a nice cozy grate fire tonight & did enjoy it as of old. The furnace went out yesterday so we couldn't start it up (I didnt't want it)! Fri. 1913 Quite cold today. Coralyn
's mother & little sister Dorothy
(seven) came this p.m. Tought we had a grate fire & sat around & visited. Lydia
here some of the time, but went to the dress maker's also. Were all up pretty late. Moved Cot
& Coralyn
's room Called in the Rowe's before supper.
Sat. 1914 Perfectly lovely day. Mother, Ruth D., Mrs.[illegible] & I went with Jimabout 7:30 to Gorsline's cottage at the lake (Ruth D. away over Sunday) Claude went to Scottsville & Eugenie dog hunting. I walked down town & then went to "Captain's" & she walked out to the to the Fresh Air School (janitor Lee showed us thro') through the [illegible] and up to the edge of the woods near Judson's overlooking the valley where we spent the p.m. Home via Monroe Ave. Bed early.
