27JANUARY 27 Thurs 1910
A gray day & a busy one.
We got the text of our patent decision from St. Louis,
which made much business. Lillian's
mother sister & brother are here & another brother (from
Dakota) & her father coming. Home to lunch.
Quite a little blizzard at night.
Father read aloud. Went to bed quite
early. Our kittens are little dears and little beauties too.
Fri. 1911
Very foggy - didn't feel
quite so badly as yesterday. Home at noon. Claude designing C of C
menu - J.W. offered to pose as
"Mercury" (with his crutches!) Tonight played flinch & solitaire. The fog was very beautiful -
& very thick. Walked up with John
Frey - who talked house & told me about Amelie & Don.
Sat. 1912
Cold & bright. Lunched
with Bess &
Mame D. Then Mary
. I walked out to the Auto show at the
Armory - very fine & beautiful decorated. Saw
Gurdon &c. Then went to
Cad Goler's to a nice turkey dinner with
Frank
(standing up with his infirmity) Ed Chapin
& his wife & Cal Hitchcock. The Victor & a
nice visit.
Mon 1913.
Still warmish but turned cold
& snowed this p.m. Mrs. Laffray
called at the office and went off with Lydia
tonight. I was going to the
Auto. show but Marguerite
disappointed me. The Farmers have bought a new
house on Clay Ave. &
Raines Park & are going to move.
Tues 1914.
Took the Boys
to school this
a.m. and went for them this noon. Slushy & horrid. Ate with
Mother
at Duffy's & shopped (a new
hat!)
Ruth
had Miss Muir here tonight. Read (in bed)
after going to "Gordon"
