17JANUARY 17 Mon 1910 Lovely day - Thawy at night. Got down early & worked hard all day - so did Claude - on station. Came home to lunch & was late walking home tonight. Stopped for a chat with Farquaharson & to see my yesterday's picture of Miss Jones, Letitia & the children
(good, too) Father read tonight and I sewed &c. Lilian came home from the hospital yesterday.
Tues 1911 Quite cold. Home at noon & did various errands. At night went to the Shubert with Bob & Mary and saw Forbes Robertson in "The Passing of the 3rd fl. back"
It was awfully good. Every seat was full. Came home with Marguerite. Every seat was full and. Tinker
slept with me (the dear!) & I didn't sleep!
Wed 1912 Alice W. start for California this a.m. A little warmer at last & a nice snowstrom this p.m. Carolyn Goler lunched with me. Frank
is sick like JW - & can't sit down! Fred (Beach) & Nellie
are on a chicken farm. Mrs. G.
lives in the old Wanzer house on Reynolds St. Marie
is in the children's aid & Pauline
Mr. Hubbell's office. This p.m. Claude & Mother went to Mr. Ramsdell's funeral. Read & sewed. The first evening lately without a fire. Wrote later.
Fri. 1913 Rain today. Very wild & disagreeable. Claude went to Canan- daigua this a.m. and Lydia
to Big Elm Farm this p.m. Mother, Coralyn
& I sat around the living room awhile.
Sat 1914 Colder-. Discovered Miss Dodge was "little Lucy" of the Mobill g'daughter of the [illegible] & Bigelow & her father died & her mother married Sir Lionel [illegible]& there's some scandal about her. Lucil is a friend of Joseph North
. A sculptor &c. I wrote some & rested before lunch phoned Marguerite. Took a "static" &c. after lunch. M. came up & staid an hour or so. Then I read "Passionate Friends"
till 3:30. Took salt & alcohol rubs read more - dressed & went to the Andrews to supper. (lovely creamed chicken &c.) Had a nice visit. Dr. Washed the dishes. Got back after nine. Read papers. a nice snow storm nearly all day.
