Only 2 degree above this a.m.
Jim& I are running the office.
I lunched with Mrs. B.
& Lura at Sibley's (crowded) and did a lot of
shopping. Marguerite was over on her
way to the theatre. And later
Theo came home from Cornell
unex- pectedly & Meta went to 40
with him.
Sat 1911
And I rested pretty well. We
got in promptly in a pouring
rain "took a taxi to the Kenmore. Found Aunt K. in bathrobe & [illegible] not dressed. breakfast with
Fred &c. Then drove to Harperly Hall & saw "Aunt
Edith" Mrs. Burke & later Harry & lovely Harperly Hill. Then to
K's for baggage - to the Pa.
Station & dine to
J. city by "tribe". Found cabin & trunk Ok and dear
CFB left us in the Pa. Dining room where we
lunched. The boat didn't sail tonight on acct of fog. Which was very
thin. I got acquainted with some interesting girls after dinner. Boys went to
bed at six.
Mon 1912
It seems lonesome with
Henry out of town. Chan
seems to be enjoying himself very well & his cold is better. (
Henry saw "The Giant Squid"
today - He liked it best of anything!)
Tues. 1913 Chan's party today. The
Ruliffson's &
Burleigh's & "Gladys" &c.
Nana was there but didn't stay all
through. They are real boys now. Marched, danced &c.
Wed 1914
Fine winter day. C.U. came to the office to see Claude & then insisted on taking me to
the Seneca to lunch for sweet breads a la Mexicane (&c.
&c.) She's a dear. I also went down & dined with her tonight and
we did up Xmas
presents and had a real nice jolly time. Just before I went over to
Ruth
's & saw her & the dear new baby. Alice Louise
