353DECEMBER 10 Sat. 1910 Dolly captured at last. I'm glad to say. Lunched with
Lura today. Did some "cooker"
shopping at night & worked most of the p.m. on Index to specification
&c. Late to supper. Embroidered & read aloud tonight - very busy. (Hippo.)
Sun. 1911
about 60 degree in shade
The loveliest mild Sunshiney day. Marguerite
came over & admired the "Campbell Kids" I have for
Henry & Chan. Packed stuff for the trunk & took it to Cro' nest. We ate out in
the piazza! And then sat & walked outdoors. I didn't wear a coat
(but my new velvet dress) This pm (after riding down with Amelie in the Auto) I did up all my
Xmas presents except one or two family ones I haven't got.
Also I ironed out cross - stitched towels &c. windows all open.
Tues. 1912
Dear Mother came down to
Sibley's to lunch with me and we got
Mackintosher & hats for the boys Christmas. She went to
the autumn chapter later Dearest Mother does look so frail & gets so
tired!
Wed. 1913 Mrs. Crouch invited me to lunch (at Sibley's) again today & we discussed
Vacation House plans. I worked on
them all the evening & figured out something good. Boys went to
C of C dinner.
Thurs. 1914
Very sloppy. Lunched with
Edith
(Florence wanted me & Cad C. has phoned twice lately.) Tonight
Hamilton &
Millie came up and later
Marguerite - with [illegible]
- & told me all the news and gossip. I am doing Xmas
shopping, of course, now days.
