311OCTOBER 29 Sat 1910 Lovely snowstorm in the night! Beautiful this a.m. Channie has tonsilitis! All the boys (3) gone to N.Y. to the Belmont Park races (flying) & the office quite lonesome. This p.m. went with Mary
 to "Naughty Marrietta" at the shubert. The Stebbins girls sat in front of us. It was very good. Tonight all 3 of us went down to Frieda's & heard a lot of Victor records & had lemon sour &c. Quite cold. Sun 1911 Beautiful day - but windy & cool. CFB & Chan went to Rush with the Stulls & Henry & Nana to Sunday School with K.E.B. After dinner I walked to Davis' via. Highland and saw Mr. & Mrs. Howson & Kate. D. who asked me if I would accept a $1800 to $2500 position as Secy of State Comm. of Immigration in N.Y. Wanted to recommend me! (No) went down with Mrs. Baker & Lura to supper (stuffed peppers &c.) and a nice visit. Read "Patricia". Tues 1912 Found Mother very lame again tonight. Went about hunting for cleaning women after supper down Plymouth Ave & up Exhange. A fine warm night. Very tired! Wed 1913 Cooler & rain at night. Finished Brady carpentry & gave it out. Worked hard all day. Rode up with Jim to get the children this noon & got out at chesnut St. & went to the Hippo. to McCurdy's to lunch & a little shopping. Rode down with join tonight (& Bohachek & Clarence to St. P.St.) Picked up i - nowflinch with Mother! Thurs 1914 A rainy day. Carolyn Upton called up (She wanted me last night) & I went there to another nice dinner and a talk till 11:30. She gave me a suit! (& other things) Irene stopped for me after 5 & walked 'way down with me in the pouring rain! I only hope still like me as well when she really knows me!!
