Little Margaret Steinhaunsen is very ill indeed with whooping cough. She nearly had convulsions last night & Dr. Engert is fatally ill with serious heart trouble following typhoid. Meta & Amelie feel terribly. Edith J. came up tonight & spent the evening. July 26. Mon Fine, but warmer. Finished "The Inner Shrine"

(a fool book) tonight. Caring's lent it. July 27. Tues Muggy Day. At 10:45 went down to the N.Y. Central Station & saw Edith, Con & Nancy Hillman going to thro' to the East. Con to London & they to Obercliffe. They all looked fine. Mother, Mr. & Mrs. Rich, Mrs. Lewis & her little girl, & Louise Fenner were there. Mrs. Stanley (Man Pattison) was inside - just going to Point-au-Baril. Tonight I went down to a lawn party at Langslow's (St. Paul St.) fot the benefit of the Infants' Summer Hospital. Guernsey Curtiss sang & Winnie McCall played & Frieda & Alice
 & Leslie Weller were there & we all came up in the car together. July 28-29 Wed. Thurs. Muggy & hot. Margaret real sick & little Channie too. Henry getting better & real funny. July 30 Fri. Still warm, but a breeze. Wore my blue dress & invited Mary D. to launch as she leaves tonight for Duazyupleeze. We had a nice time. "Capt." Frank D. & Eva Gorsline are going too - Bess will be glad. Our babies
went to the lake today & enjoyed it. July 31 Sat Lura & I took our Mothers
& Charlotte to Ma Wright's today. A boy met us & I drove
