tired myself out walking thro' all the Museum
but was well repaid. There is much
added since I was there - a picture by
Wells of the White Mountains - made me cry (The
"Concord feeling" I call it - and there's a reason!) It was a pay-day
and there were many copyists. Edith
walked down to 76th St. with me and then I went alone over to the
Wilkinson's.
Had a nice visit with Mrs. W. and "Chummy" and then
Kath came I stayed an hour or more and
Kath
took me to the car. Harry went to
Bermuda Saturday & it was too early for Fred. Got back just in time to dress up and go
over to the Maggie-Lou table d'hote dinner
with the girls - and then up to the lovely new
Stuyvesant Theatre, where we met a Miss Bull (in Mary's office) and all saw Dan Warfield
in "The Music Master" it was perfectly delightful from beginning
to end. The little girl like Esther Warm- ington (as she used
to be) the three musicians (German, French and Italian) "Miss Houston
who sang "Hiawatha" off the key and the dear man himself it was
fine. Coming down Broadway we saw
the Opera crowd - very spectacular.
Mar. 14 Sat.
Slept later this morning - still lovely weather.
Edith and I breakfasted at Childs and
spent must of the morning in the stores beginning with Van
Tine's- up B'way - to Mary's
