, Captain, Zoe Taylor & Miss Mason (2 beds) pretty good. July 4 Sat. Rain this morning, but hot between times. The girls went in swimming in one sunny spell & I took their pictures. The bathing-cove is good. A yacht was anchored there & some boys went in swimming on & off all day. Bes Mame read "Sequil"

aloud on the piazza and I loafed a good deal of the day. This p.m. there was quite a hard thunder storm - lots of extra girls came on the a.m. boat. Before supper Frances
& I took a long, long walk a mile or so down the road - which is very pretty. The evening was lovely, very still young moonlight and fireworks at the hotel at the point. A very loud outfit came to inhabit a cottage over Sunday. A nice man with three little children came up on a yacht and anchored. We had some fireworks too. July 5 Sun.
Chandler 29 wks. 17 lbs. 5 oz.
Bright, breezy & warm. Woke up very early but had a very late & horrid breakfast. Some people took photographs of groups (I snapped one) & c. Then most of the girls walked up the glen, but I lay in the hammock & read instead, but walked up a little way to meet them. There are 3 or 4 falls & it's very pretty they say.
