Aug. 19 Thurs. Still cool. Staid down to lunch & went to the Hippodrome to see moving pictures. They are good there & never cease to be interesting to me. Packed to-night & talked to Marguerite (home from Dansville) on her piazza. Aug 20 Friday

Mr. Grant Lawrence, down here on our street, was badly hurt about the head in an Erie accident last night - was Engineer of an excursion which ran into something else. Lunched with Mary
& walked down with her. Lovely weather. Aug 21 Sat. A beauteous day. JWC home from his 5000 mile auto. ride with Mrs. , Mr. Whitney & Mr. Clarke. He says he has 225 full
pictures! Told me a good deal about it. Germany - Austria - Italy - Switzerland, France, Normandy, Brittany & England. Brown, but doesn't look very much - better otherwise. At one I left and came home to lunch & get ready - Made some blueprints & dear Mother went to the station with me - Claude was there too, to meet Marion & I had a nice chat with him. The ride to Wolcott was really very restful & lovely. I read the Outline of Theosophy!

Arrived at 6 o'clock & Trudy was waiting - also Mr.Winchell, with a three-seated carriage, Mr. & Mrs. Batsford (as we learned later) from Syracuse. We drove to Wolcott Village first to buy Mrs. B.
