3/18/09 "Oolong"
visited Lura &c. but said very little. I staid down & wrote Claude's article for him. Had a nice warm supper at 10 o'clock! & then to bed. Mar. 18 Thurs. Mother & I dressed up in our good clothes & went & saw the Cornell Masque in "Oolong" at the Lyceum tonight. It was good for amateurs. Mar. 19 Fri. Snow again. Had a nice time lunching with Mother, Bess & Mary at Sibley's. "Esmond"
tonight. Mar. 20 Sat. Lunched at Seel's with Laura Hutchinson today. She's in the Cutler Bldg. & doing fine. Went to the Auto show with Father late this p.m. Mar. 21 Sun. Sunny & cold. Made blueprints this a.m. Claude is in Buffalo, visiting the Spragues and seeing the Sorolla
pictures. Mother and I went to Cro'nest this p.m. & took the babies over to the Park. A nice old lady - Mrs. Vanden- bergh - a friend of Letitia's - was there. She said old Mr. Darrow
died this morning. He was over 80 - tho' very active - but lost everything in the fire friday night in the East Side Savings Bank Annex & the shock was too much for him. He was a well-known character. Went over to Davis's late - just for five minutes or so - Mrs. D. is sick a bed. Took a picture of dear Mother with Chandler. Mar. 22 Mon. Mother's 49th wedding anniversary. Claude didn't get home till night. I went with Meta & Theo to a musicale at Amelie's. The McCall girls, Guernsey Curtis, Mr. Ward (his admirer
) May Foley & her sister Carolyn Kramer & Mr. & Mrs. Hardenbrook. It was very nice. The Victor & Mr. Curtis &
