(to telephone) & then walked with
Claude over thro' Goodman
Street to Davis's (with Marmalade)
Helen was home & Hamilton & Milly came to supper and we had a nice old fashioned visit -
Kate is a heroine. Mrs. Davis lent me some of her letters from
Sicily - but they are scrappy of course. I do admire her
Feb. 22. Mon.
A beautiful sunny day for Washington's birthday, and we actually
had a half holiday! I lunched at Sibley's
with
Bess (just back from the country) Mame &
Edith. Later went up to Cro'nest & Claude
& I adored our little Henry (still in
bed, but better) & then I went down & got
Mother & we rode out to
Fairport & back stopping over a car & buying
butternuts. More reading aloud tonight.
Feb. 23. Tues.
Went down early stopping at Glenny's
to see Nellie Mac, JG & JW went to
N.Y.
It poured all day - after 10 this morning
Feb. 24. Wed.
Cleared off windy. Papa read his paper
on poetry of the Bible at church tonight. I went up to Mrs.
Weston's - on Cypress St. about my shirtwaists.
Stopping at
Rowe's on the way home. Zippy wind
Feb. 25. Thurs.
Stormy. Nellie tells me Mary is to be transferred back to
Rochester (Good Roads
office) Nell & I went out to Lilian Davis
to supper tonight (Frank had to work)
Had an awfully good time & a ditto supper.
