Dem is there & at the Sanctum Mr & Mrs. A.O. and there are two new Kittens ("Sarsparilla & Vanilla" or "Reuben & Cynthia"?) Mate was interesting, as usual, Charles has grown 5 inches! and Dem is just convalescing from an illness. July 30. Sun. Slept late (and well). Went fishing with Mr. Willard. He caught one and I got one almost to the boat and lost it. We got caught - or almost - in a hard shower - but a Mr.Day (?) gave us refuge in his cottage and played us vaudeville selections on the graphophone! We got home just in time for dinner. Sat on the piazza & visited &c. in the p.m. & made a few prints from last year's negetives(!) Miss Chapin of the Holmes - Chapin canning kitchen came down to call & staid to supper. I find her very charming. She taught three years in Livingston Park Seminary & comes from Geneseo. Mr. & Mrs. A.O. were also over in the evening and there was music (but not by Charles, whose "voice is changing" he say) It began to rain
