weren't home and then to Lura's. Florence Penfield was there (sick) and they were just about to eat turkey dinner and asked me to stay - but I went home to my family. Played flinch with Mother. Dec 26. Tues Lunched with Helen D. at Sibley's today and we had a nice visit - a lovely spring-like day. Dec 27 Wed. Have a cold today and feel rather rocky. Was going with Lura out to see Clare Whitman's baby but Helen Sayles telephoned me that she and Leon were in town, so I went down to the Whitcomb House and spent half an hour with them. She is in deep (and becoming) mourning for her Mother, Mrs. Bunnell, who died last Spring and is on her way to Washington to spend the winter. Leon is in Williamson with his Father. He has on long trousers and glasses and I wouldn't have known him. He's 15 and 1/2! Rushed home to supper and dressed up in my new velvet coat, hat &c and went to Laura H.'s to a card party. Stopped at Lura's & had a visit with Hamilton. The MacArthurs, Miss Goetzman & the Pierces are there. We played pedro and Alice Mac. Whitten got the prize - a pretty bag. Had salad ice cream &c. late getting home. Had a very good time in spite of my cold.
