told me to keep straight on a couple of miles - Then turn south and go thro' Penfield and I'd come out opposite Clover St. on the East Ave road. That sounded well and the wind simply spun me along and the air was fresh and the clouds were beautiful - Even when I turned toward the South, tho' the wind was strong it didn't "phase" me any and I found Penfield rather nice - Town Hall & all - & didn't realize till I was walking down a steep hill beyond that I was still far from home. I found a lovely little river, with a water fall and an old mill - forks of the road & all and to make a long story short after experimenting and inquiring found I was in the edge of Despatch - with 3 1/2 miles of bad road in front of me and a path so narrow - & facing the wind - which blew me off of it. I walked and rode awhile then turned and (mostly) walked thro' the edge of Despatch - past the Hoster - Arm- strong new factory - up the half- mile hill and finally came out to the improved road "Despatch 1/2 mile Fairport 3 miles, Pittsford 1 mile, Rochester
