These all stayed at the house. Miss Colt (who took Helen's place as secretary) came down Sunday, and a Miss Judson (Lillie R.) took her meals there. The just-married Ham girl & her new husband. "H" - whom I met once at the station with Mae Gallagher were staying next door. It rained hard later we had a lovely fire in the hearth and Bess Hutchinson read aloud from "The Pettison Times" which is funny. The Clover club girls had the big front room and I slept all alone in the little pink bed in the side room (with 3 empty cots besides!) Slept good, too. June 30 Sun. A rainy Sunday all right. We had breakfast about 8:30 or 8 and spent the morning inside reading &c. It was pleasant. Went out for a walk (with borrowed rubbers) just before dinner - down to Charlotte and back after dinner read "Joseph Vance" on the bed and slept some too. Bess H. ("Bobbin") and rice of the other girls came in and visited. There was a lovely sunset & I helped Millie Gommer ginger take it with her "Brownie" It was cool enough to stay in by the fire tonight. Toast marshmallows & read &c.
