the Cafeteria (YWCA) Ate with "Captain" Gridley. Took the 2 o'clock train to Webster again. Read nearly all the way. It almost rained when walked to the Dew Drop (we are "Dew- Drops" now, Mrs. Wright says) The girls met me half way. When we got in Mary played a "program" she had arranged on the phonograph and Mrs. W. brought me 3 large sugar cookies and a glass of milk! She is very entertaining. Talked to us a long time - and thro' the telephone to "the Lawn" & "Edny" &c. She's going to Forest Lawn Monday for a month! Played solitaire & read a little (was tired) Before supper we took a walk up "Lover's Lane" (a private one) and had and interview - with a buxom young woman with some gold teeth, who was tending chickens - After supper Nellie accompanied the family to "town" for Saturday night (everybody goes) They were scandalized because Nel Mary & I didn't. I read "Joe Vance" and Mary read and played the piano. We had a nice time - and gossiped with the family & looked at Mrs. W's new shoes &c when they got back. They got nearly run over by an Auto on the Ridge. Bed about 9:45.
