read tonight. Henry gained 2 oz. since Friday. Wed - Fri Dec. 12-13-14
12th Nancy Caswell Hillman born. Pasadena. 7 1/2 lbs.
Regular thing. Christmas shopping every available minute. Lunched with the Flacks in the "Tea Corner" Thurs. with Father & Mother at Sibley's Friday. Helped Mother pick out a house coat for C.F.B. She gave me her mink furs & I'm having them made over. Papa sold Uncle Jay's Bryant's Homer (Iliad & Odessy) for $10.00 & Mother insisted I should take her share - so the whole thing is a Christmas present from her. Dec. 15 Sat. Dark & rainy - cooler at night. Lunched down town & shopped "profusely" - all nearly done. Accts. &c. tonight. Zozie hasn't been feeling well a few days. Zenda is fine ! Dec. 16 Sun. Stayed home today & fixed Christmas things. Papa went up to Cro'nest this a.m. and Char & Claude were down this p.m. to thank Mother for the lovely carriage she gave Hal. Dec 17 Mon. Shopped &c with Mother. Got a lovely (hideous?) "bureau set" to give Nellie Mac for Xmas - Miss McAffrey went down & got it for me. Dec. 18 Tues. Edith Hillman's birthday - got a postal from Con announcing the birth of a 7 1/2 lb daughter on the 12th. Walked down town with Esther Warmington, whose engagement to young Mr. Leggett is to be announced in two weeks. She says the Bellamy boys
are going to Cornell to take a course in dairy farming & then practice it.
