Dec. 2 Sun Went up to Cro'nest this morning & we talked Christmas presents &c. Henry's a dear. Read all the afternoon & evening & had a music box concert. Dec. 3 Mon. JWC. home again. Busy-ish. Read new magazines & played flinch tonight. Dec. 4 Tues. Cold & snow. Mother, Marguerite Rowe & I went to Mechanics Institute to hear Miss Finch

tell her darkey stories (same as last New Years) The Davises were there & Kitty Crichton. I've got a share of "Ojibway". Dec. 5. Wed Busy day. Nice letter from Alice & one from Gardenhire.
Went to the P.O. to get Chat to notary-public a paper & had a chat. John Graham's wife died Sat. in N.Y. - quite suddenly (good thing for J.W.) Dec. 6. Thurs. Pouring rain & slush this a.m. but cleared out in time for Mother & me to leave umbrellas behind. We went to Buffalo at 9. It poured again at Batavia but was only windy at B- It blew us up Main St. to the cat show in great shape. We spent an hour or so there (Germania Hall - Hill St. & Main.) They had nearly 300 cats - a fine show - but the place was too small, too dark & not warm enough (for cats) Zenda's rival - ginger - only got a 3rd. Finally we saw 2 cats which had been thro' the San Francisco Earthquakes & lived 2 weeks
