Nov. 20. Tues A rainy day. First move was to get some carpenters to rescue Mrs. Russell's cat which was up in a tree all night. Got my hat which is lovely. Went for a shampoo - or rather a brushing at Mrs. Martin's at 5:30 & later over to Behn's for a little visit. They are worried about Meta's throat. Tried Read some good stories in Ainslies. Bed early. Nov. 21 Wed. Rained very hard. Got "My Friend the Chauffeur" at Edward's.

Char phoned me that Kate Stebbins (who's in mourning for her mother) wanted to sell a beautiful Mme. Hofer silk-lined green dress for $15.00 (probably cost $70 or $80) & she tho't it wd fit me. So Papa went up for it and it did exactly. So of course I had to buy it. Especially as my green velvet hat & coat go with it so well. Marywanted me to go to "The Embassy Ball" but I didnt. Nov. 22 Thurs. Herb Caswell called tonight & was entertaining as usual. Con & Edith are housekeeping. Nov. 23. Fri Lunched at Sibley's with G.C.B. J.W.C. away this week & I'm taking life easy. finished my library book tonight. Mr. Wiltsie lent Mother his horses to take a lot of old ladies to the Evangelist meeting. Nov. 24. Sat. Dull & gray as usual. Claude in N.Y. Char weaned Henry because the Dr. didn't think he was gaining enough. Bought roses at Sibley's for 25¢ cent a dozen today! Mother took some to Mrs Wratten (our neighbor with a baby). Wrote tonight.
