Tues. Nov. 6 Election day, fine. Went to Dr. Scranton for a last séance. He made me a gold filling in the laboratory, while I real Colliers & put it in when done! Mary came for me at 3, but after luncheon at Sibley's. I went back & worked till nearly 6. Withall bet me 20 to 1 (cents!) that Hearst had won, and strange to say he did carry the city! Rode up with Amelie & young Moore

who had a union saying 731 plurality! Later it was less- very exciting down town & huge crowds they said. The Boyce boys, Swinburne & Papa all talked politics when they arrived. Wed Nov. 7 Fine again. Hughes did win by about 50,000 - Withall paid my bet in pennies! Lunched with Father as Sibley's (nice lunch) and then shopped for a waist, but didn't get one. Wrote & read &c. tonight. Thurs. Nov. 8 Claude sick with an ulcerated tooth &c. today. Miss Jones, Char's nurse left & she has a young girl - Ada
- to help take care of little Hal. Read magazines & played flinch &c tonight. Fri. Nov. 9 Horrid dark rainy foggy November day. Lunched with GCB at Sibley's. Went to Bijou & saw some moving pictures & then to Edward's
& got "The Call of the Blood" which I read tonight. Also played 3 games of flinch with KEB.
