June. 25 Sun. A pleasant morning. Up early (didn't sleep much) Breakfast at 8 & then went right to the station. Herbert

was there and announced the birth of a son to Theodore
- Friday night - ! Rob
is home visiting his "intended" (10 yrs. older) in Brooklyn. Got some papers, (which announced us heiresses) a Pullman & took it very easy coming home. Lunched & dined with dining car - Enjoyed the scenery much and in all had a comfortable day, tho' the p.m was hot. Jun. 26. Mon. Reached home at nine and Papa & the cats (& we) were glad. A hard thunder storm came up but it made no difference to me. I went dead asleep & didn't wake till 8 this morning. Found it much cooler & cloudy, with some rain - Lots of cash accounting ( Mother & I "net" $77.20 a piece, so far) and to the bank this p.m. & got a fine raincoat (at $15.00, reduced from 19.75 and from 25.00!) and so on - but missed the shampoo I wanted. Unpacked, laundried, packed again, wrote &c. &c. Claude stopped tonight - the dear! Zozie purred a lot. Now must go bye-bye for tomorrow's journey.

June 27 Tues. A lovely morning. Cool enough - pretty with clouds. Didn't get up very early "considering", but we got started in time for the 8:50 train. I stopped for film. Saw Mr. & Mrs. A.O. Bunnell at the station, also Ed Koeppe and Mr. McNeil, the singer & a lot others.
