Got sterling scissors for a Pedro Prize & a little nickel pig (holding a tape measure) for booby. Also bought some Xmas presents. Claude gave his Italian lecture at Mechanics Institute this p.m. Dec. 5 Thurs and went to Oswego today to do it at the Fortnightly Club tonight. Stopped to see Mary (a nice little visit) and we walked up together (with Warren Fisk) Tonight I went down there and after hanging some pictures and having some music, Mary, Emma & I played Pedro. I came out ahead. Mary walked way up with me. Beginning to be blizzardy. Dec. 6. Friday J.G. is in Albany Nice winter weather. Claude came back & reports lecture very successful & Didn't do much of anything. Shopped a little. Read tonight. Papa's reviewing books for Post Express. Dec. 7. Sat. Did more shopping today. A pen holder for another Pedro prize &c. Didn't get home till late. Then sewed, wrote, read & "ciphered" tonight. Ned & Edith were up this p.m. Ned sulky (Mary ?) & Edith anxious I should come down to tea - but I declined with thanks.
