and Election Day - and the "Goo-Goos" are
"in it" everyone said. It is hard to believe this is November with
the thermometer up toward seventy and sunshine & all. J.W.
went a golfing early and J.G.
followed in a carriage after lunch. I let Claude's new little red- headed draughtsman in at nine
and at 12 I spun away home for J.G. said "You can't vote, Miss B.
, but you can ride the bicycle and you better this
afternoon". I agreed. Was starting off at one - or before when I met
Mary - also bur- dened with a half-holiday - but
no wheel. I walked to Adams St.
with her and we laid our plans. Then I rode to Ned's & she & Edith were started dressing at the news "Mary
is coming!" They dressed. I oiled
Diana & visited Frederika & the Bride and then "she came!"
Ned & I rode wheels (N's rented for the day) and Edith & Mary
followed by street car. Such a ride! We stopped for Ned's profile & a
