the river at Charlotte to see the Electric Fountain at Summerville. Then took the 9:20 to the city. A gay party in the car amused us. Was tired out when we got home & had a bad attack of the "blues"! foolish me. Made hot tea, which waked me up too much. Jun. 19. Wed. Ned was up a long time this noon & again tonight - went shopping with her. Frank Davis invited us up there to-night to a "phonographic-concert". Was too tired to go. Stopped to tell Mary. Chatted a few minutes & she rode up almost home with me. After supper I took Diana again & went to Mrs. Wagner's to see about having a cambric dress made. She talked & talked, as usual. Started for the park when I reached Plymouth Ave., and met Mary, Mr. Ballagh & Dr. C. They made me turn around & go back to Mary's - where we sat on the steps & talked & watched attempting bicyclists a long time. Mr. B. rode home with me (tho' it wasn't even dark yet!) And he invited Mary & me to ride to Summerville with a party of 25 or so next Monday night! Read the "New England" book &c. & had iced tea later.
