Afterwards we went to the old cemetery & a gentleman there showed us some of the most interesting old stones - & after loading up with "black jacks & gibralters" which everybody eats - or sucks - we came away, past the new normal school, etc, on a trolley in to Marblehead - and what a place is Marblehead! Wiltsie engaged a funny old man (with one tooth) and a horse that had lived there "colt & horse" all his life and a wagon like this:

and we drove for an hour or so. All thro' the most crooked & narrow & devious ways. The funny old gentlemen talking all the time - telling how this road went into a man's yard - how that house had a corner cut off to give passage - how a fence was put here once in 20 years to preserve property - how "the man who once owned the Neck"
lived there &c.&c. The funniest thing he told us was about having a funeral at a little house
