all about. Saw Mrs. Page's home (place where she was
born). The old Pickering House - many old places built
in the sixteen hundreds. Gov. Endi- cott's Mansion - which
was a fine old Colonial place - there are many such - The
"Witch House" (now partly a drug store) where we got out
and were shown into the dark place of examination - horse shoes
hung over the door & an appropriate black cat reclined on a
barrel. It smelt of "spirits" in two senses. We went around to gaze
at the quaint "back Elevation" which was inappropriately made a
background for a modern bicycle. A naughty
