been "fooling" and tumbled off of the car. She was not hurt however.
We left the car and plunged in to darkness, found a little path,
lighted by moonlight (very young moonlight)
sifting thro' leaves & skirted along till we came out on
Echo Bridge - which is the conduit crossing a river &
valley - high above it. The "bridge" is no thoroughfare - but has an
asphalt walk and lit by the faint moonlight - and looking down to
the water & the white road & tree tops & quaint
buildings below us - &c the hills far away - twinkling with
light here & there - was a marvellously beautiful - & weird -
& altogether pleasant place to be. We strolled from one end to
the other and back again chatting & keeping silent and enjoying
everything. Then we came into the darkness again & from that
emerged into the electic brilliancy & went into to a two penny store
& bought chocolate almonds to amuse us till the car came. It
happened to have a motor man who had been in
been "fooling" and tumbled off of the car. She was not hurt however.
