At 29th St. we turned off again to go into the quaint "Little church around the corner" with its nice & corners & angles & memorials & then to see where Conkling
had lived. Went back thru 31st St. to the Life Building & there I put Mama on a car, bound for our hotel, and walked down Broadway alone, was surprised to find it already 20 min. of four! Went into Smith Gray & Co's on Broadway & bought me a lovely Turkish brocaded necktie (light) blues & salmonish pink & white - like one of my waists. The street seemed teeming with people theatrical and they stood about on corners & talking to each other & walked up & down & ogled & smiled & joked - all smooth faced & be-diamonded - both male & female. Stopped up in Sarony's for a picture for Mary Mac, but didn't find the one I wanted. Got back in time to finish packing and get Mama & the things on board a cable car, which we took to Murray St- & there found the brightest little Arab
