There we went into a Loan Exhibition which I did not think especially interesting until we got up stairs where Geo De Forest & S.P. Avery had lent their collections & book covers. There were many fine & many famous ones - both modern & ancient - and I enjoyed it immensely. Manuscript copies - bound in silver or silver-gilt of old Florentine "Devotions".
