Apr. 7 Sun Really our first spring day. A robin woke me up with his singing and this afternoon I saw him on a treetop in the park - my first glimpse of his highness this spring- which shows how late a spring it is. It was a warm sunny morning (60°) and I stayed home and enjoyed our newly papered and ar- ranged parlor - which I sat up late last night to finish arranging (About all I did yesterday - I had such a cold. Had a call from Edith at the office and did a little shopping at noon - curtains!) I wrote a long letter to Gertrude before dinner - while Claude drew a Peacock poster - and afterward got ready for church. A warm spring rain commenced just before I started - but it made the green come out in the grass & the earth smell so good I did enjoy it. I enjoyed the church service and came out of the dim gas light into the dim daylight to find it still
