so often my little skeleton has to come out of its closet and have a
time - which leaves me quite limp. Read "Briseis" by
the fire, while Claude
made the "Juggler Sun" poster & after dinner went
down to Mary's & sat by her fire & got cheered up first rate. Staid
to tea ("Aunt Mag." was there.) Went up in Mary's room awhile &
Mary played for me & sang "Ben
Bolt" and "The girl I love" &c. She walked
part way up home with me & I wrote & read.
Feb. 17. Mon.
Very cold. 10° below early this a.m. Froze a piece of one ear. Saw
Charlotte before dinner & afterward called on her in Mr.
Stowell's "parlor". Ned came
up & Edith. Mr. Gillis talked to me this a.m. Went to
the Gibson picture with Papa & Mama this
evening. We sat up stairs - 3rd row. Belle ClarkeMaudHelen Gordon & her lover Ely Buell & a
number of the "actors" were up there. The pictures were not all just like
Gibsons
but they some of them were and made lovely tableaux, anyway.
Lula McAllaster
was simply lovely in white (Ely Buell
thought so too!) and Miss Wilder & the gentle- man
about to kiss her were very good. The
College glee Mandolin Club
discoursed music. Out early
1896.
