A terrible slippery - slushy - Freezy & thawy day. Staid down at Harned's with Charlotte. We nosed among books at Scrantom's. I got "David Grieve" for 25¢ gave it to Claude & Charlotte almost got a first Edition of Emerson for 25¢ but Mr.Scrantom rescued it. Tonight - in spite of bad weather & no sleep last night - went to see the Bostonians in "Robin Hood" - with Mary, Edith, Lura & Ned. I enjoyed it very much tho' I got sleepy & hot Jessie Bartlett Davis got sick in the 2nd act and someone else took her place in 3rd. The music was lovely - A great crowd were there. Coming down the hill Mary & I were behind & Jack Ballagh caught up with us. We rode up in the quarter of 12(!) car with Mr. & Mrs. Likely. I'm getting extravagant on theatricals. Jan. 25. Sat. Busy with J.G. today- He goes back to Albany Monday or Tuesday. Came up with Mary tonight - after stopping at Scrantom's. Fixed my cash &c. & Read "Romeo & Juliet". Jan. 26. Sun. Cloudy & snow. I was called at 9 but dreamed delightful delirious dreams till 12! When I got up & made a luxurious toilet bath &c. & breakfasted shortly after one! Then went to Ned's - via. Mary's (she was sick abed) to return a book. Ned
