1895.
Oct. 12. Saturday Well, I've minded my doctor and stayed home every night this week, also have been to bed early nearly every night. A glorious week as to weather (till today.) Monday morning I went to the station on my wheel, to meet Edith & Ned. Saw them on their car & then went & bought a new plaid (blue & green) waist to wear with my blue skirt. Wednesday noon I rode down to try it on & stayed to dinner with the girls (Edith is making it) Tuesday p.m. I went down too, & then rode up to the Erie station & met Mrs. Andrews & Edith who came & stayed till Friday p.m. Thursday evening Ned & Frederica & Charlotte went to hear Melba
and Edith came up here - Mary was here, too. She confided what she thought of my other friend to me. "How happy would I be with either, were t'other dear charmer away"! Ned says it's not she like Mary so well - but she's uns- miling I should pay her attention instead of herself - which is complimentary - & true! Mrs. Andrews & Mama had made ice cream & we ate it in the evening - Mr Gordon was up stairs with Claude and had some too!
